TCGradar ("we", "us") provides a trading-card catalogue, collection tracker, card recognition and AI condition-grading service via the TCGradar website and iOS app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. It should be read alongside our Terms of Use. We are the data controller for the personal data described here; for data questions contact support@tcgradar.co.uk.

Independent service: TCGradar is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures, GAME FREAK, Wizards of the Coast, PSA, BGS, CGC, eBay, Apple or Google. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Information we collect

• Account details — your email address and display name. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email (or Apple's private relay email) you choose to share.
• Card photos you upload — images you submit for recognition or AI grading (front, back, angled, corner, macro and edge views).
• Collection data — the cards, quantities, conditions, grades and notes you add to your inventory, plus value snapshots over time.
• Technical data — basic logs (IP, timestamps, errors) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use it

• To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
• To recognise cards and estimate condition/value from your photos.
• To store and display your collection and its estimated worth.
• To operate, secure and improve the service.

AI grading & third parties

AI condition grading sends the card images you submit to OpenAI to generate an estimated grade and report. We do not sell your data. Service providers we rely on:

• OpenAI — processes uploaded card images to produce grading reports.
• Apple & Google — Sign in with Apple authentication and App Store / Google Play purchases (subscriptions and credit top-ups are billed by them under their terms; we do not receive your card details).
• Market-data sources — we use third-party pricing data (e.g. eBay, TCGplayer, Cardmarket) to estimate values; we do not share your personal data with them.

AI grades are estimates for indicative purposes only and are not official PSA/BGS/CGC grades or appraisals.

Data retention

We keep your account data and uploaded images until you delete them or close your account. Deleting your account removes your data as described below.

Deleting your account & data

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, or by emailing us. Deletion removes your account, uploaded card photos, inventory, grading reports and collection history, and revokes any Sign in with Apple tokens. This action is irreversible.

Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored on access-controlled servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

TCGradar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Contact us at the address below to exercise these. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
